Rocket Royale Review, Main Features, Gameplay and Video

Gameplay

The Game starts by dropping you in on a map where you have to fight to become the last man standing. They drop you in using a portal rather than the plane that they use in Fortnite. They should have used a rocket instead to fit in with the game’s theme.

Your first task when your boots land on the map is finding weapons to defend yourself with. When you’re loaded up you can start looking for other players to kill and that might take a while because there will be very few players on a rather large map. You could take up to five minutes exploring before you run into your first foe.

The developers dealt with this problem by limiting each battle to a maximum of ten minutes. You will have little time do anything but hunt for weapons and get lucky with the odd potshot when you run into someone. Camping will prove to be a very inefficient battle strategy in this game.

Rocket Royale includes elements of building in the same way that Fortnite does. You can build three types of structures which are walls, ramps and platforms which enable you to traverse the parts of the terrain that would otherwise be inaccessible. Some buildings like walls can be used to protect yourself from enemy fire.

The availability of a particular weapon depends on its rarity tier. The higher its rarity tier, the harder it is to find and the more damage that it does.

The Good

This game should appeal to people to who like the battle royale experience even though it is a minimalist version with little tension and quick matches.

The Bad

Rocket Royale is a poorly made clone. The graphics look like they were designed for Minecraft.

The matches are short and your chances of running into other players are slim because there are only ten players per match.

Conclusion

Rocket Royale’s presentation lacks in many ways. The ambient sounds and the user-interface are the only things that were designed well but the rest of the game plays like a cheap arcade game from the early 90s. The animations are lazy and the characters move around in a clunky manner that makes aiming and shooting a chore.

This game is far from the best battle royale game that you can invest your time into. You might still enjoy it if you want what to play what feels like the first draft that got trashed when the Fortnite developers were creating their genre-defining game. The simple premise of killing everyone else still works despite the lack of detail.
