Hustle Castle: Fantasy Kingdom is a role-playing game where you get to own your own castle. The only catch is that an evil lord is wrecking havoc in the kingdom and your job is to save the day…and the princess.
Gameplay
‘Save the princess and take over the kingdom’ is a gaming theme that most gamers are familiar with. Hustle Castle: Fantasy Kingdom for PC is set in the medieval times and the Kingdom that you lord over is equipped with forts and expansive armies. There is nothing new here in terms of setting but the execution makes it worth following through to the end.
Most of the game will be played in single-player campaign. This campaign will take you through missions that you have to complete on your quest to defeating the Abyss Lord. Most of your enemies will be human however there are a few mystical creatures such as dragons and orcs thrown in to make it interesting.
Your castle is your main base of operations therefore you’ll need to fortify it well. In this castle you will protect your citizens and rebuff any enemies who try to bring the fight to you. The fortress is only lightly fortified at first so there will be a lot of work for you to do.
One of your knights is tasked with teaching you how to improve your castle. One of the first things you’ll learn how to do is build barracks for your army. From there you can move on to more complex buildings.
Your kingdom would not be complete without subjects to rule over. The developers put a lot of work into diversifying the villagers and it shows in how well they present themselves. The different classes of blacksmiths, scribes and so on are easy to distinguish and each have their own roles to play.
If you fear that your kingdom’s population is dwindling too fast then you can get them motivated to reproduce. In a feature that likely won’t find in any other game in this genre, you can set up dating rooms to get your villagers in the mood and popping out babies which you’ll need to grow into new servants to replace the old ones that died in battle.
Planning for and engaging in battles will take up most of your time. Different classes of fighters such as the knights deal massive amounts of damage even though they don’t look particularly tough. You’ll be able to upgrade them anyway in order to keep up with the missions that keep getting harder.
The Good
The gameplay is simple and the graphics are fun. Using cartoon-style designs keeps the adult themes from being too dark which makes this a fun game for players of all ages.
The Bad
‘Save the princess’ seems to be the only thing capable of starting a war in the Medieval Ages.
Conclusion
Hustle Castle: Fantasy Kingdom for PC is a great game. It feels less nerdy than previous role-playing games and all it took to do that was using cooler and crisper animations.
